Japan Photo Journal: Salvia flowers create brilliant red carpet at Saitama park
A sea of vivid red salvia flowers in full bloom is seen at Omiya Hana-no-Oka Agriculture and Forestry Park in Saitama’s Nishi Ward on Sept. 13, 2022. According to the park, some 33,000 salvia plants cover a field measuring about 6,600 square meters. As the weather since mid-August has been fair, they have apparently grown well. The flowers will be at their best for viewing until late September. Spider lilies, cosmos and kochia flowers can also be seen at the park now. It is open between 7:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. in September, and admission is free.
